Gluten free food options in Krakow Poland
Krakow was the first place I visited after my coeliac diagnosis. I had booked this pre diagnosis and found out a week and a half before I went that I would have to follow a strict gluten free diet for the rest of my life which was a bit of a shock. I had swithered about cancelling however decided that I would just do a lot of preparation at looking at gluten free restaurants beforehand and would continue with my trip.
Now onto the food recommendations!
The first place we tried was cakester. They specialised in brunch food; I had the avocado and
egg waffle which was lovely. They also had a variety of cakes but we didn’t have room to try any!
For dinner we went to Moo moo steaks in the Jewish quarter. I would recommend booking as they were full most of the night when we went to book. I thoroughly enjoyed my steak. It was on the pricier side but was nice treat whilst we were away.
We also tried to go to pancake house, however when we arrived were informed that they use the same equipment for gluten free and non-gluten free so there would likely be traces of gluten. I decided that it wasn’t worth the risk and went to the hard rock café.
Hard rock café is often my go to for a safe option when away if I don't have a specific place planned as they have a good gluten free menu and I feel safe when ordering.
We also took a day trip from the city so for food I took my own from the supermarkets as they had small gluten free options.
Overall I would say the gluten free options in Krakow were alright however you definitely need to plan in advance!
